Meera

You listen to the music and you like to sing along,

You want to get the meaning out of each and every

song.

Then you find yourself a message and some words

to call your own, And take them home.

- Bread, ‘Guitar Man’

It was not hard for her mom to discover her four-year old daughter’s musical talents. All that she needed was a group of people to stand in front of her to burst out singing. A performer in every sense of the word, from then until today, Meera continues to derive and provide pleasure belting out one melodious number after another.

Meera has learnt Carnatic music under Mrs. Vidya Hariharan daughter & disciple of Dr.S.Ramanathan.On entering college, she started judging music competitions. In a sense, that was also a learning experience for her, where she learnt to appreciate the nuances that differentiate a good singer from others. She continued her training under Mrs.Preethi Seshadri while in the bay Area.

Her keen ear for music and rhythm makes her a key contributor to the group’s chorus. She has sung a piece for the tamil play "Kaasu Mela Kaasu" staged by Naatak - a bay area based theatre group under the music direction of Mukundan. She has also lent her voice for the song "Vandemataram" in the movie "Green Card Fever" which was shot in the US. The movie has been released in India and will soon hit the theatres in the US. Her enthusiasm for anything and everything makes her a well-loved person in the troupe. In Thillana, she finds a voice to do what she loves the best: sing her heart out.
