Sampathkumar Pudhukottai Ranganathan often sports hair as long as his name.. The soft-spoken ever-smiling sampy is the ultimate package deal. Apart from lending his voice to mellifluous songs for thillana, he plays the violin and the self-taught flute. He trains as a vocalist under Suguna Purushothaman of the musiri lineage. He has learnt violin from Nishant Chandran and Babu. But if Prabudeva were to ask for his thumb as dakshina he can't say no. Which brings us to the best part! He is the well-loved dance choreographer for thillana. Having pioneered the choreo outfit in IIT-M and IIM-C, with successes across culturals in India, he brings his dancing talents to the variety show that is thillana. As a budding classical artist he has played the violin in the Music Academy of chennai. He continues to sing and accompany in various bay area performances.
