enna oru show!! I liked the variety Lalitha Rajagopalan Rag's breathless song and Mux's oldies were just spectacular. Kadhal duet by Panch and Rev was just kalakkal.The dance sequences were really well done. Especially the veerapandi kottaiyile! And Suj.. VA VA vOOM :)
Arun I haven't seen so many people get up from their seats and dance during a tamil show.All the credit goes to the fast numbers belted out by the awesome band, special credit goes to the crooners revathi & kavitha. Their energy was more infectious than the deadly SARS :-)
S Raghu the compering team did excellent on the whole and matched the quality of the singing/orchestra.
Mani Ram Backdrop was very creative. Audience could see a lot of effort that had gone in the making of it.

Mahesh The Thillana program was just awesome. My pick was the 'Thiruda Thiruda' number.
Chandar I brought my in-laws along and we were all extremely appreciative of the quality product that Thilana put together for such a noble cause! Mahesh Natarajan : Yesterday's Thillana program was just awesome. By far the best concert by you folks. Although I was there only for the first half, I totally enjoyed it. Kudos to the whole team. Subbu did a fantastic job as the MC. Anjan Srinivas : Excellent show ; Lot of energy ; Truly spring colors ; effort in all fields like lighting, stage setup, dancing were appreciated by the crowd ; Good job on mixing ; Exremly high talent level all round. Singers-All of them were very good. Raghavan commented after seeeing our "Roshni" show that it is going to be a tough challenge to live up to the set standards, i think guys you have achieved in your own cool way. Keyboard and guitarists- I was a little surprised (pleasantly ) at the way the keyboardists had no confusion about any to their pieces... Percussion-Very good. Very talented percussionist's. Compering-Kept the audience laughing and interested all the time.Very good job by all in the drama team. Ramesh Manian : Super show. Good production, good sound,very professional…. All out fun. Really enjoyed the dances that came during the show as well. Asha & Mani : Your vArAyO vasanthamE concert exceeded my expectations! The way the Emcees used a story to link the various songs was delightful and funny.They really entertained the crowd with such delightful timing. Tribute to Sivaji touched my heart. The volunteers who guided us to the parking spaces and inside the auditorium were professional. The production crew had done a fantastic job. Hats off to Shyamala. I couldn't believe the "vArAyO vasanthamE" sign hanging from the ceiling! Saritha : CONGRATULATIONS (!!!) on very good showmanship, an excellent evening of entertainment and display of some outstanding (and humbling) talent radiating from the team. The efforts taken to put up a rather professional show was very obvious and certainly noticed. Jaya Kannan : I was totally impressed with the performance yesterday !!!! I can't help myself comparing it with the 2000 performance...great improvements in sound/stage deco etc. Natarajan : The conceptualization of a wholesome show, the meticulous planning and coordination and finally the near-flawless execution were truly remarkable. Vijay Ramani : Thanks for putting together something as good as this. I know it would be too much to ask for something as good as this very often, just because the effort that goes into this is probably huge, but you should try and make this happen atleast twice an year. Shobi : Your show, "Vaaraayo Vasanthame" was fantastic. What a talented group you are!! I haven't enjoyed an evening of music so much in a long time. Your energy and enthusiasm was amazing. You can count on us being there at all your shows. Shankar Satyanarayanan : Guys, you all really Rocked last night (04/28). Excellent show. I have been an AVID fan of this group and have not missed a show since 2000 (when i came to Bay area). Keep up the good work and rock on. Sripriya : Attention to details, such as the fluorescent green lettering juxtaposed against the colourful backdrop, smooth transitions in between acts, attention to match the mood of the songs with the outfits of the singers, thoughtful combination of lighting and dances, all this made your show more than just a Light Music show. It was more of a blended theatrical act. Uthara : Last night showed excellent organization and coordination. There was no gap between songs and everything went on like clockwork. Your change of attire according to the songs provided variety (I loved the half sarees!). The skit by Subbu & Co. was hilarious and tempo kept growing reaching a crescendo towards the end. The tribute to Sivaji was quite touching and moved many to tears. The singers proved that they're no way lesser than the professionals. The dance mix loosened up the crowd. Maniram : Excellent performance by the entire crew ; Well Organized ; Great song selection ; Great execution ; Good compeering, which kept the whole show interesting Krishna Sivaramapuram : What an array of talent, man!!! 2 Violinists, 2 flutists and almost everyone can play the drumpad... And most importantly what a keyboard section.. Guys! you had a very good script for a comedy drama there... Lots of effort and it showed. Suj : Thillana never fails to raise our standards with each show, and Thillana never fails to surpass those standards with subsequent shows. Keep the energy going guys. You rock!!!!
Anand & Vidya : Fabulous show folks !Shivaji mimicry by alex was simply awesome Drums solo /mrindangam in thillana thillana was reaaaaaaaaaaaally good special pongal bonus for us east coasters ! Prabhu : Superb Show. Really impressed with the talent in the troupe Raj’s mimicry was a great addition to the show Thamizha Thamizha /Thaniye were rendered in a unique way . Good luck for all future endeavours Karen Sterkin : You people are a group of very talented,exuberant & hard working musicians Singers & musicians gave more than 100% of their efforts to udavum karangal money’s worth for helping hands ( U. karangal) Ramprasad : A wonderful show ! Chandrasekaran Somasundaram : A simply superb programme Venkatesh, Rema & Niru : Very good show ! entertaining on a pongal morning It was an excellent & successful venture by all involved Sundar ( on behalf of udavum karangal USA) : This programme was a grand success !! Visitor from Penang : All the songs sounded like the original Vocalists & instrumentalist did an excellent job ! A fan from DC : Awesome show ! An Admirer : All songs were very well done. All the singers were par excellence ! Another Admirer : Thillana is a bunch of talented youths ! Singers & instrumentalists ruled the show !!! Suja Vijay : Female singers were good !!! It was an excellent show The chorus sequences were done extremely well ! Kudos ! An Admirer : It was an excellent contribution to the field of music individually & as a team ! Naveen Jebaraj : The orchestration of all the songs were perfect which is very difficult to find in any other light music shows. All the singers (including kids) did a good job too. A Fan : Mr. Rags has a good voice. My vote goes to Anthi mazai, it was played well. Overall a great show, keep it up. An Admirer who calls himself a JUNKY : WOW!!! Thillana you really made a goldanaaaa!! Raja : Great Show! The orchestration was especially excellent with lot of attention given even to minute details. Sometimes the sound (feedback) was a problem, which I'm sure was a pain in the rear for the singers. Keep it coming! Haris : I've already become a fan of the singing style ( mannerisms??) of alex RJay : great show! Listening to the songs, I felt very overwhelmed, Great talent,everyone. One of the best shows I have heard. Kiru : I just happened to catch a few songs on thendral.com. Very good effort. I can believe this one is real live sound instead of some karaoke CD+vocals :). Looks like you guys tried songs with difficult choral singing etc. The strings and brass (thamizha thamizhA) sounds seem good (Triton ?).

High-level'la kalakkitenga :-) Congrats!!" Asha for Education : "I dont know where to begin I am speechless. That was a great great show I was so impressed by the talent and the music. Now I really wish I could play the guitar or drums. I would like to thank you all on behalf of ASHA for taking the time and energy to put up a show like this in such a short time. I admire your courage and determination to organize this event so quickly. Every now and then it feels a bit lonely at ASHA but with you guys around I see a lot of hope. The money that has been raised through all your hard work is more than we had expected and will go towards the projects that ASHA supports. I thank you all for your altruistic efforts in making this concert a success."
